DevOps Engineer

Are you an ascending DevOps engineer seeking the summit of a software development and deployment? Phizzle is fast growing company working in the sports and entertainment industry to pioneer a new and more efficient way to capture data about and engage with fans.

We are looking for a Development Operations Engineer with at least one year’s experience with Amazon Web Services. You will provide support for infrastructure maintenance and development operation processes. Because we run continuous integrations/deployment updates and build outs you will need to be a quick learner prepared to understand the Phizzle deployment processes. You will also contribute to log analysis and monitoring along with an analysis of system resources and logged data to determine immediate and future plans of actions.

You will work closely with the development teams to help define and architect new solutions for our cloud-based products that are scalable and maintainable. We are constantly experimenting with new technologies and architectural patterns. 

You will also work to update and patch infrastructure resources including, but not limited to Databases, AWS Linux/Windows Servers, Back-Ups, and Snapshots.


Our ideal DevOps Engineer would possess skills in the followings areas:

-Linux command line interface;  CentOS, SUSE, Ubuntu

-Amazon Web Services Ec2 and/or other services provided by AWS
-Chef or Salt Stack or Ansible familiarity 

-Scripting Languages: Bash, python, Perl

-Continuous integration/deployment with Atlassian Bamboo and/or Jenkins

-Build tools: Maven, Ant

-Putty and/or SSH, Remote Desktop
-Monitoring Software; Zabbix, Nagios, New Relic, Jconsole, Visual VM
-Web containers: JBOSS, Node, Tomcat, wild fly
-REST Clients: Postman, SoapUI
-Networking protocols: HTTP/HTTPS, TCP

-Load Balancing and high availability techniques

-Security: HTTPS, SSL, Certificate management (Generation and updates

-Databases: SAP Hana, Dynamo DB, postgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL

-Programming Languages: Java, JavaScript or other major object-oriented languages




-40+ work hours a week can include odd hours (weekends/nights)
